The Commission Process

Commissioning a Carlson guitar begins with a conversation. This allows us to discuss your playing style, preferences, and how a Carlson guitar can best support the way you play.

If there is alignment, a build slot may be reserved and scheduled based on current availability. Specific details are confirmed prior to the start of each build, allowing the instrument to be approached with clarity and intent.

Because each guitar is built individually, timelines may vary depending on the scope of the project and the current build schedule.

Occasionally Available Instruments

From time to time, an instrument may be completed outside of a specific commission. This may include a finished guitar, a showpiece build, or an instrument made without a particular client in mind. When this occurs, it offers an opportunity to acquire a Carlson guitar without a standard build wait.
